POD Training
POD training: Please see the link below, search for Region 4, and find the information regarding POD training to be held at the Emergency Operations Center of Hillsborough County on February 5, 2009. Registration can be done online.
Please keep in mind, United Way is not conducting the training. We are supporting disaster volunteer needs and serving as a conduit to organizations seeking this assistance. If you have any questions, please contact the registration link.

Preparing to Recover: learn how to educate yourself and your employees on what to expect post disaster from agencies that provide disaster recovery assistance including insurance, FEMA, SBA, ONA, municipal resources and nonprofit sources of last resort. - American Red Cross Shelter Training: Becomes someone’s hero, work in a shelter and help support our community. To register for this class, please fill out our registration form (located at: www.tampagov.net/cert in ‘training and notices section’ if the link does not work), including your name as you would like it to appear on your CERT certificate and a daytime contact phone number by October 15, 2008. This will be the last class offered for 2008.
The purpose of the course is to provide citizens with the basic skills needed during a major disaster. This training will allow graduates to respond to the immediate needs of their community in the aftermath of a major disaster – the time when emergency services may not be immediately available.
All training materials will be provided free of charge. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early the first day in order to fill out the necessary paperwork. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Refer to website at (www.tampagov.net/cert) for more information and for frequently asked questions.
